I only own a small proportion of the phonograph records listed, and those I own are NOT FOR SALE.Otherwise, youll need to spend hours over a period of time searching junk stores, garage sales, record auctions (both mail and internet), and anyplace else that may have 78rpm discs for sale.Citing this page: (MLA Style) Settlemier, Tyrone; Abrams, Steve and Holzer, Steven. The Online Discographical Project, 24 Sep.

So I DEVOURED Ethan Iversons interview with Mr. Erroll Garner Discography Full Of PricelessCranshaw, which is full of priceless details, reflections, and insights. His last CD JS note: the record is Magician, issued on Garners own Octave Records label in 1974. He said, Okay, Bob. Im just gonna play a little of it so you can hear it. Take one He turned back to the piano and put his hands down for an intro. He had no idea. He played by ear. Grady and I looked at each other. I heard it, so I didnt panic, but the two of us are looking there and were laughing because how in the hell two second ago, he just played the tune in one key, and the guy says, Now were gonna make a take, and he turns to the piano and hes already wherever his hands were, thats where it was. Most of the time hed play an intro, hes not even sure what hes gonna play. First of all, we came in the studio, and we were all short, so we were all the same size laughs. We went off on that because it was just funny with all of these short guys. It was the same kind of experience. He played. He justplayed. I had several of the old Columbia records from the fifties, and I picked up another four LPs for a few dollars each at Amoeba. The internet and the Berkeley Public Library filled in a few more. And he always, always gives the impression that hes playing spontaneously, from a totally committed, all-in place. I started writing down what keys he was playing tunes in, just because I was sitting at the piano while I was listening to them. Ive put the duplicates in italics, and some of rare keys in bold. Obviously his bass and drum comrades were always great players, but there were no parings of, say, Garner and Carmen McRae, or Sweets Edison, or Shelly Manne, or Wes Montgomery (an all-no reading session), or Roland Kirk, to name just a few combinations that would have stimulated him in worthwhile ways.
